5 Killed in Fiery Crash on Long Beach Freeway Accident

Long Beach, California: Five people were killed in a fiery collision that happened early Monday morning on the Long Beach Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly collision occurred at about 4:12 a.m. in the northbound lanes at the transition to the southbound Artesia Freeway.

Authorities said a dark-colored sedan crashed into an attenuator, was hit by other vehicles and burst into flames.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

The firefighters pronounced all five people inside the sedan dead at the scene.

All northbound lanes of Long Beach Freeway were closed during the investigation.
