6 Killed in Tacoma Crash on SR 509 at Alexander Avenue

Tacoma, Washington – At least six people were killed in a two-vehicle collision that happened in Tacoma on Sunday morning.

The crash happened on Highway 509 at Alexander Avenue at around 11:19 a.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.

A white SUV was traveling northbound on SR 509 and collided with a gray passenger car driving southbound on Alexander Avenue.

Authorities say there were seven people inside the passenger car at the time of the accident.

Six people in the passenger car were killed in the accident.

Two people who were inside the SUV and an occupant of the passenger car were hospitalized in critical condition.

The Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the cause of the accident.
