9 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash in San Bernardino

San Bernardino, California: Nine people were injured, two of them critically, in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Sunday afternoon in San Bernardino, the San Bernardino County Fire Department reported.

Firefighters responded to Del Rosa and Highland avenues after they received reports of the crash at around 2:30 p.m.

Seven vehicles were involved in the collision, several of them sustaining severe damage.

The firefighters extricated some occupants from their vehicles.

Two people were transported to a nearby trauma center with critical injuries. Seven others were also injured, and some of them were also hospitalized.

Police did not immediately establish what led to the collision. A witness, however, said a car that overturned in the crash was traveling south on Del Rosa when it ran a red light and caused the collision.

Investigators are collecting more information to help them determine the contributing factors.
