Pedestrian Killed, Another Injured After 2 Vehicles Collide in Carthay Square
Los Angeles, California: A woman died, and a man was hospitalized after two vehicles collided Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles’s Carthay Square.
The victims were pedestrians who got hit when one of the vehicles went off the roadway after the crash.
The accident occurred around 1:35 p.m. in the 6000 block of West Pico Boulevard.
A white Chevrolet pickup truck and a black Mercedes-Benz SUV were involved in the crash.
The pickup went off the roadway onto a sidewalk and crashed into the glass door of a business.
A female staff member in her 60s and a male client in his 80s were hit by the pickup truck.
Both victims were taken to the hospital.
The woman later died from her injuries.
The man remained in stable condition.
Investigators closed the roadway during an investigation.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
