2 Killed, Several Hospitalized After Snowplow Crash in Oregon City
Oregon City, Oregon: Two people died, and several others were hospitalized after a traffic collision involving an ODOT snowplow Saturday afternoon in Oregon City.
According to Oregon State Police, poor road conditions played a role in the accident that happened at around 3:40 p.m. on Highway 26 near milepost 59.
Police and other emergency personnel responded to the scene after receiving reports of a collision involving a Subaru Outback and an ODOT snowplow.
The responders pronounced two passengers in the Subaru dead at the scene. The victims were identified as Lilian Spahn, 24 and Micah Strauss, 28. Both were residents of Portland.
Two other passengers and the driver of the Subaru, a 26-year-old Beaverton woman, were hospitalized for their injuries. The 29-year-old Troutdale resident operating the snowplow was also taken to the hospital. All the patients suffered unknown injuries.
Police said the Subaru was traveling westbound on the highway when the driver lost control and crossed into the eastbound lane. The vehicle collided with the oncoming snowplow.
The authorities said “poor road conditions were a significant contributor to the crash.”
Investigators closed the highway for almost six hours following the incident.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
65-Year-Old Kenneth Joseph McLeod Dies in Irvine Crash at Alton Parkway and Foster
Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
