Michael Figone Killed in Hope Ranch Crash on Marina Drive near Alisa Lane
Hope Ranch, California (May 4, 2023) – Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a traffic crash on Tuesday afternoon in Hope Ranch as 45-year-old Michael Joseph Figone of Santa Barbara.
The collision happened on Marina Drive near Alsia Lane after 4:45 p.m. on May 2.
According to a police report, Figone was heading eastbound on Marina Drive in a Yamaha R6 motorcycle when he crashed into the right side of the westbound postal car and was turning left onto Alisa Lane. Figone was thrown off his bike after the crash.
Figone was pronounced dead at the crash site.
33-year-old George Turner of Santa Barbara, the mail truck driver, was not hurt in the crash.
Police did not suspect alcohol or drugs to have contributed to the crash.
Authorities closed Marina Drive for approximately two hours for an on-scene investigation.
An investigation is ongoing.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
