Adolfo Raya Jr. Killed in Pond Car Crash at Highway 43 and Pond Road
Pond, California – Adolfo Raya Jr., 38, of Shafter, has been identified as the man who died in a multi-vehicle collision on Friday afternoon in Pond.
The accident happened at Highway 43 and Pond Road, nearly 33 miles northwest of Bakersfield, at around 2:56 p.m. on January 12.
The California Highway Patrol says Raya Jr. was driving a silver Chevrolet truck westbound on Pond Road when he collided with a vehicle heading north on Highway 43.
Authorities say a tire came loose from one of the cars and struck two other vehicles at the intersection.
Raya Jr. was killed in the accident.
Aldo Montoya, 33, of McFarland, was riding in the Chevrolet and was airlifted to Kern Medical with major injuries.
A 19-year-old Delano man driving the northbound car was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
An investigation into the accident is underway.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
