Alberto Rodriguez Killed in Fresno Car Accident on Interstate 5 near Shield Avenue

Fresno, California – Alberto Rodriguez, 24, from Menlo Park, has been identified as the man who was killed in a multi-vehicle collision early Monday morning in Fresno.

According to California Highway Patrol, the accident was around 12: 05 a.m. on Interstate 5 near Shield Avenue.

A 2025 Volvo big rig was traveling on the freeway when it failed to slow down for the traffic ahead and slammed into a 2011 Subaru Outback that was stopped behind a 2023 Freightliner big rig.

The impact of the crash caused the Subaru to be pinned between the Volvo and the Freightliner big rig.

Rodriguez was a passenger in the Subaru and was killed in the crash.

Five other people in the Subaru were taken to a nearby hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
