Alejandro Bernal-Lozano Fatally Injured by Car on 5 Freeway and County Road 39

Glenn County, California – The man killed in a deadly pedestrian accident involving two vehicles on Monday night has been identified as 25-year-old Alejandro Bernal-Lozano of Red Bluff.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Interstate 5 southbound, south of County Road 39 at about 11:30 p.m.

Police said Bernal-Lozano was walking in the area when he was hit by a Volkswagen operated by 28-year-old Jamey Phillips of Willows.

He was then hit by a Peterbilt operated by Maricela Sanchez

Alejandro was declared dead at the crash site.

No additional information concerning this crash was released.

The incident remains under investigation.
