Allyson Navarro-Salazar Dies in DUI Multi-Car Crash on Highway 99 in Live Oak

Live Oak, California – The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman who died in a car crash on Friday in Live Oak.

The double-fatal crash was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 99 and Paseo Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A suspected drunk driver reportedly drifted across the double yellow lines at some point and side-swiped one vehicle before colliding head-on with a car driven by 21-year-old Allyson Nohelia Navarro-Salazar. A fourth vehicle was involved in the crash.

Navarro-Salazar, of Gridley, and a 1-year-old girl in her car were killed in the crash.

A 23-year-old Gridley man who was a passenger in Navarro-Salazar’s car suffered major injuries and was taken to UC Davis Medical Center.

Nobody in the other involved vehicles suffered serious injuries.

The suspect, who was hospitalized with moderate injuries, is alleged to have been involved in a separate collision earlier in the town of Live Oak.

Drugs and alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash, according to the CHP Yuba-Sutter division.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
