Andrea Fanning Killed in Bakersfield Crash on SR 99 near Sherwood Ave
Bakersfield, California – Andrea Marie Fanning, 23, has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as the woman who died in a car crash on Sunday in McFarland.
The accident was reported at around 5:17 a.m. on northbound Highway 99 near Sherwood Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Fanning was driving a 2014 Chevrolet on Highway 99 when she came to a stop for unknown reasons. A 43-year-old woman was driving a 2019 GMC when she failed to notice the stopped Chevrolet and rear-ended it.
The impact of the collision sent both vehicles off the roadway.
Fanning was pronounced dead at the accident scene, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
