Andres Gutierrez Dies in Head-On Collision on E Street in Chula Vista

Chula Vista, California – The San Diego County Medical Examiner has identified a man who was killed in a car crash last week Wednesday in Chula Vista.

The crash was reported at around 6 a.m. on May 24, in the 700 block of E Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Andres Montante Gutierrez, 58, was driving a car westbound on E Street in a Honda sedan when he drifted into the opposite lanes and crashed into a Nissan sedan that was waiting to make a turn.

Officers from the Chula Vista Police Department arrived at the accident scene and found Gutierrez unconscious inside the car.

The Chula Vista man was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The other driver was injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The Chula Vista Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
