Angels Camp Resident Killed in Sonora Crash on Highway 108
Sonora, California – Authorities are investigating a car crash that claimed the life of one person on Saturday afternoon, May 13, in Sonora.
The California Highway Patrol says the accident happened on Highway 108 near Draper Mine Road.
A 39-year-old Angels Camp resident was driving a 2019 Kia Optima westbound on Highway 108 and was slowing down to turn into a private driveway when it was rear-ended by a westbound 2020 Ram 2500.
The Kia ended up in the eastbound lane and was hit by a passing Ford F-350 driven by a 30-year-old Sonora man.
The driver of the Kia was airlifted to Doctors’ Medical Center in Modesto. Sadly, the patient died while receiving treatment.
Authorities say 49-year-old Tammi Truschke was driving the Dodge Ram and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
