Apple Valley Woman Killed in Lucerne Valley Motorcycle Accident Identified

Lucerne Valley, California: 42-year-old Kristina Kimsey of Apple Valley died in a head-on collision involving a motorcycle and a car that happened Thursday afternoon in Lucerne Valley, the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner reported.

The accident occurred around 6:25 p.m. on Highway 247, also known as Old Woman Springs Road at Visalia Avenue.

Authorities said Kimsey was riding a 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound when a 43-year-old Apple Valley man driving a 2020 Toyota Corolla southbound moved to the left of the solid yellow line to overtake slower-moving traffic, directly in Kimsey’s path.

The motorcycle and the car collided head-on.

Kimsey was thrown the motorcycle, sustaining major injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

A GoFundMe account was opened to help raise funds for her family.
