Arturo Carrera Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Pacoima
Pacoima, California: 70-year-old Arturo Sepulveda Carrera was arrested after a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident that happened Saturday night in Pacoima.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the accident took place around 10 p.m. on eastbound Van Nuys Boulevard near Remick Avenue.
Carrera, a Van Nuys resident, was driving a silver Nissan Cube when he struck a 29-year-old Hispanic man walking in the roadway.
Carrera did not stop after the collision but continued eastbound.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Carrera was located and arrested several hours later. He was booked into the Van Nuys Jail on felony hit-and-run charges. His bail was set at $50,000.
