Arturo Garcia Killed Bakersfield Crash on Highway 65 near Sherwood Avenue

Bakersfield, California – 22-year-old Arturo Luis Garcia has been identified as the man who died in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred on Wednesday evening in Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol said the collision happened around 6:22 p.m. on Highway 65 near Sherwood Avenue.

Garcia was driving a Toyota northbound when he veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Dodge.

A Chevrolet traveling behind the Dodge was unable to stop and slammed into the wreckage.

The impact of the collision sent the Toyota and the Dodge down an embankment while the Chevrolet came to a stop in the southbound lanes.

Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people suffered minor injuries in the crash.
