At Least 1 Seriously Injured in SR-14 Crash in Kern County
Kern County, California: At least one person sustained major injuries in a rollover head-on collision involving a wrong-way driver that happened Friday night in Kern County.
The California Highway Patrol said the wreck occurred at around 10:56 p.m. on State Route 14 about a mile or two north of Redrock Inyokern Road.
An International heavy-duty truck and a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck were involved in the accident.
One of the trucks was reportedly traveling in the wrong direction on the highway when the two vehicles collided head-on. The semi-truck overturned onto its side.
One of the drivers was pulled out of their vehicle.
Firefighters responded to the scene and took at least one person to the hospital with major injuries.
The semi-truck was towed away with a missing front axle.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
