At Least 1 Dies, Several Injured in Crash on Interstate 15 in Corona

At Least One Person Killed in Corona Car Accident on I-15

Corona, California: At least one person died, and several others were injured in a collision that happened early Saturday morning on Interstate 15 in Corona.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident was reported around 3:22 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate near Weirick Road.

Authorities said they were notified about a collision involving a black Toyota Camry and a yellow Hummer with the vehicles blocking traffic lanes. Moments later, before first responders arrived, authorities were informed that a male occupant of one of the cars exited his car and got hit by a passing vehicle. The driver that hit the pedestrian pulled over after the collision.

The report said at least one person died, and the body had to be extricated from a car.

Several others suffered unknown injuries.

All traffic on southbound I-15 was diverted off the freeway at Weirick Road following the crash.

CHP officers are investigating the collision.
