ATV Rider Killed in Antioch DUI Crash

Antioch, California: 52-year-old Jerry Hill died, and 20-year-old Tatiana Bartlow was arrested on suspicion of DUI and driving the wrong way after their vehicles collided head-on Saturday night in Antioch.

The Antioch Police Department said the wreck occurred at around 9:27 p.m. near Deer Valley Road and Wildflower Drive.

The police department responded to the scene after they received reports of the collision.

The officers learned that Bartlow was driving a car northbound in the southbound lane of Deer Valley Road, possibly under the influence of alcohol.

At the same time, Hill was driving a quad ATV southbound when the two vehicles collided head-on.

Hill was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene.

A 20-year-old female passenger in Bartlow’s car suffered a head injury. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities said Bartlow and two passengers from her vehicle left the scene after the collision, but witnesses followed them and alerted the responding officers.

Bartlow and the two passengers were located a short distance away.

Police arrested Bartlow on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and booked her into county jail.

The crash is under investigation by the Antioch Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
