Beatrice Higgins and James Moore Jr. Killed in Oroville Crash on Highway 70

Butte County, California – Authorities have identified two people who were killed in a rear-end collision in Oroville last week Tuesday.

According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10 a.m. June 4, on Highway 70 near Montgomery Street.

Beatrice Higgins, 62, was driving a Volkswagen CC heading northbound when she stopped on Feather River Bridge for unknown reasons.

Elijah Kinser was driving a red Ram pickup truck and did not realize the Volkswagen had stopped.

The Ram then slammed into the back of the Volkswagen.

Higgins and her passenger, 58-year-old James Moore Jr., were not wearing seatbelts and were killed in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
