Ben Gloff ID’d as Lodi Public Works Employee Hit and Killed by Car

Lodi, California: 37-year-old Ben Gloff was the Lodi Public Works employee who was hit and killed by a car while on duty Thursday morning, the City of Lodi reported.

Police said Gloff was working near a manhole with a public works crew in the area of Watson Street and South Central Avenue when the crash occurred.

A car was turning north from Watson onto South Central when it hit Gloff at around 7:30 a.m.

Emergency personnel rushed Gloff to San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp for treatment. The man later died at the hospital.

According to the City of Lodi, Gloff was “a dedicated employee who worked to maintain and improve Lodi.
