Bicyclist Fatally Hit by 2 Cars in South Los Angeles

South Los Angeles, California: A bicyclist died after he was hit by two vehicles Wednesday evening in South Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on Crenshaw Boulevard, south of Stocker Street.

LAPD said a 59-year-old man was crossing eastbound on Crenshaw Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a car going northbound on Crenshaw.

The cyclist was thrown into the air and landed back on the roadway.

A second car speeding northbound also hit the man as he lay on the roadway. The driver of that vehicle did not stop after the collision.

The driver of the first car stopped and attempted to help the victim.

Paramedics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Authorities are searching for the hit-and-run driver.
