Bicyclist Fatally Hit by Impaired Driver in Tucson
Tucson, Arizona: A male adult bicyclist died after he was hit by a DUI suspect Sunday night in Tucson, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on West Valencia Road near South 12th Avenue.
According to Tucson police, an orange Dodge Dart was traveling east in the median lane when a bicyclist crossed in front of the car.
The vehicle hit the cyclist, who was not wearing a helmet and did not have any lighting equipment on.
The driver of the Dodge is said to have been impaired at the time of the accident. Police also searched the cyclist and found narcotic paraphernalia but did not confirm if he was also intoxicated.
An investigation is ongoing.
