Man Dies After San Jose Bicycle Accident at Camden Avenue and Bascom Avenue
Bicyclist Hit and Killed by Juvenile Driver in San Jose Dies at Hospital 2 Weeks Later
San Jose, California: A bicyclist died at a hospital about two weeks after he was struck by a car driven by a juvenile driver at a San Jose intersection.
According to the San Jose Police Department, the cyclist died around 7:03 p.m. on August 1 due to injuries suffered in the accident.
The collision occurred around 12:29 p.m. on July 16 at Camden Avenue and Bascom Avenue.
Authorities said the accident involved a man riding a bicycle and a 2015 maroon Honda CRV driven by a juvenile female driver.
The cyclist was heading south on South Bascom Avenue across Camden Avenue against a red traffic light when he was hit by the car traveling east on Camden.
The cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital, where he was stabilized.
San Jose police said the rider later died from his injuries at the hospital. The name of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.
