Bicyclist Hit and Killed by SUV in Oxnard Identified

Oxnard, California: 35-year-old Joey Paquet from North Hollywood died after he collided with a vehicle while riding a bicycle Sunday night in Oxnard.

The incident took place about 9:40 p.m. at the northbound 101 Freeway off-ramp and Oxnard Boulevard.

According to Oxnard police, Paquet was riding a bicycle southbound in the northbound lanes of Oxnard Boulevard when he was struck by a 2012 Ford Edge making a right turn from the 101 northbound off-ramp.

Paquet died at the scene.

The driver of the Ford stopped and remained at the scene.

Authorities said speed, alcohol, and drugs were not believed to be contributing factors.
