Bicyclist Killed in Crash on Capitol Expressway at Senter Road in San Jose
San Jose, California: A bicyclist died after being hit by a truck driver Tuesday morning at an intersection in San Jose, authorities said.
The accident occurred around 7:23 a.m. at East Capitol Expressway and Senter Road.
San Jose police said the driver of a red truck was speeding westbound on Capitol Expressway when they ran a red light at the intersection and hit a bicyclist heading northbound on Senter Road.
The truck also struck a second car traveling northbound on Senter Road.
The cyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was not clear if any other person was injured.
The driver of the truck was arrested.
Investigators closed Capitol Expressway and Senter Road as they worked the scene.
