Bicyclist Killed in Monterey County Crash

Monterey County, California: A bicyclist is dead after being struck by a pickup truck Saturday afternoon in Monterey County, authorities said.

The cyclist and the driver of the pickup were heading east on San Miguel Canyon Road when the accident happened.

First responders pronounced the rider dead at the scene.

Police do not suspect impairment to be a contributing factor.

An investigation is ongoing.
