Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Ukiah Crash Identified

Ukiah, California: 20-year-old Chloe Proctor was hospitalized with serious injuries after she was hit by a car while riding an electric bicycle Sunday in Ukiah.

The accident happened on March 31 at Sanford Ranch Road and Talmage Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Proctor was riding an electric bicycle southbound on Sanford Ranch Road at approximately 20 miles per hour. At around 4:43 p.m., she approached the intersection with Talmage Road and failed to stop at a stop sign in the area, entered westbound Talmage Road, and collided with a Cadillac Escalade traveling westbound on Talmage Road at about 35-40 miles per hour.

The driver had attempted to stop the vehicle and swerve to the left to avoid a collision but was unsuccessful.

The Ukiah Valley Fire Authority responded and transported Proctor to Ukiah Airport from where she was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital by Reach Air Ambulance.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
