Boy Hit and Injured by Vehicle in Pacific Beach, San Diego

San Diego, California: A 6-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle Saturday evening in Pacific Beach, police said.

The San Diego Police Department said the incident took place in the 5000 block of Soledad Road.

The boy was standing next to his mother while she was unpacking her vehicle. At the same time, a 75-year-old man was driving a car northbound at a low rate of speed.

The boy saw his father across the street and ran eastbound across Soledad Road in the path of the car.

The child was hit by the vehicle and suffered a fractured pelvis. The boy was taken to a hospital but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Authorities are investigating the collision.
