Boy Killed after Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident Identified

Bakersfield, California: 8-year-old Ricardo Aguilar died after he was struck by a car Wednesday afternoon near an intersection in Bakersfield.

The boy was hit around 1:44 p.m. at Bank Street and Holtby Road near Roosevelt Elementary School.

Aguilar was hospitalized with severe injuries but later died Friday morning while receiving treatment at Valley Children’s Hospital.

Bakersfield, California: Authorities said the 8-year-old boy who was struck by a car Wednesday afternoon in Bakersfield died from his injuries while receiving treatment.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the boy died Friday morning at Valley Children’s Hospital, where he was being treated after the crash that happened around 1:44 p.m. near Bank Street and Holtby Road.

Police said the boy was walking eastbound in an unmarked crosswalk when he was hit by a car driven by a woman.

The driver stayed at the scene after the accident.

Speed and impairment were not believed to be contributing factors.
