Boy Killed, Girl Injured in Sacramento Crash on SR 50 near 65th Street
Sacramento, California – A child died and another was injured in a Sunday evening car crash in Sacramento.
The accident was reported around 4:35 p.m. on westbound Highway 50 near 65th Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A disabled black Toyota blocking the fast lane of the highway and two children were standing in the center median.
CHP said a 30-year-old man driving a Ford vehicle was traveling westbound and swerved to avoid hitting the Toyota but struck the children.
The 8-year-old boy died at the accident scene.
The 9-year-old girl was transported to the hospital with major injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
