Boy Killed in Delano Accident Involving Pocket Bike on Cecile Avenue
Delano, California: A 16-year-old boy died after he was struck by a car last week near Delano.
The California Highway Patrol said on September 30 at around 7:36 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was riding a pocket bike westbound on Cecil east of Driver Road at an unknown speed.
At the same time, a 17-year-old boy was driving a 2019 Ford westbound on Cecil at an unknown speed, approaching the bike from the rear.
Authorities said, for an unknown reason, the Ford struck the bike.
The rider was ejected, sustaining fatal injuries.
The Ford continued in a northwesterly direction, hit a wooden telephone pole, and stopped within a dirt field.
The Ford driver was taken to Delano Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
