Modesto, California – 50-year-old Byron Gonzalez has been identified as the man who died after being hit by a car in Modesto on Thursday night.
The fatal auto-pedestrian accident happened around 5 a.m. on Highway 33 near McCracken Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was walking in the area and was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Highway 33.
Gonzalez was found lying in the lanes and was pronounced dead at the scene.
