Child Dies After Accidentally Being Hit by Grandmother in Grass Valley, Nevada County

Nevada County, California: 16-month-old Ross Grenon died after being struck by a car pulling out of a driveway Friday morning in Grass Valley, the California Highway Patrol said.

The accident occurred around 7:10 a.m. near Gilham Court and Wolf Mountain Road.

Authorities said a 66-year-old Loomis woman was leaving her family home when her three grandchildren ran to her car to bid her farewell.

One of the children, Grenon, walked in front of the vehicle without the knowledge of the grandmother and got hit.

Grenon was airlifted to a hospital, where he later died.

Authorities said intoxication was not a contributing factor.

An investigation is ongoing.
