Child Hit and Killed by Car in Tulare County
Tulare County, California: A 2-year-old boy was fatally struck by a car Friday night in Tulare County, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident occurred just before 8 p.m. on Avenue 256 near Road 159, southeast of Visalia.
CHP officers said just before the crash, the boy was playing in a driveway near the road, and a 27-year-old Lindsay man was driving a 2016 Nissan eastbound on Avenue 256 with two passengers from Porterville.
As the car neared, the boy ran into the street and got hit by the vehicle.
The child was rushed to Kaweah Health Medical Center, where he later died.
The driver stopped and remained at the scene.
