Child Hurt After MUSD School Bus Involved in Yucca Valley Crash
Yucca Valley, California: A child was injured when a Morongo Unified School District bus was hit by a car that ran a stop sign at an intersection in Yucca Valley.
Authorities said the school bus was transporting 28 children from La Content Middle School going westbound on Onaga when, at around 1 p.m., a 2012 Nissan Murano heading south on Valley Vista ran a stop sign and hit the right side of the bus.
The bus traveled in a northwesterly direction after the crash onto a private property and through a wooden fence. The bus hit a parked 2014 Chevrolet Cruze and pushed it in a northerly direction into a residence.
A 13-year-old student and the driver of the Murano sustained minor injuries. Both patients were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and Morongo Unified School District Administrative personnel responded to the scene.
