Child Killed in Oceanside Pedestrian Accident on San Tomas Drive
Oceanside, California – A 16-month-old boy died after being struck by a car on Tuesday afternoon in Oceanside.
The accident was reported around 3:40 p.m. at the 3200 block of San Tomas Drive, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
A 62-year-old Oceanside resident was driving a white Ford F-150 westbound when the juvenile allegedly wandered into the street and was struck.
The child died at the scene, despite the lifesaving efforts of the first responders.
The pickup truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
