Child Struck and Killed by Car at Parking Lot in Chula Vista
Chula Vista, California: A 3-year-old child died after she was hit by a car in the parking lot of 891 Showroom Place in Chula Vista, the Chula Vista Police Department said.
Police received reports of the accident at around 6:21 p.m. on Saturday and responded to the scene within minutes.
The officers attempted to offer aid to the child before firefighters arrived and transported the victim to Rady Children’s Hospital.
The child was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at the hospital.
The scene where the accident happened is a busy center with restaurants, several kid-friendly attractions, and other facilities.
The child was hit by a car driven by a 36-year-old man, who stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police said drugs and alcohol were not thought to be contributing factors.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
