CHP Investigating After 2 People Killed, 3 Critically Injured in Baker Crash
Baker, California: The California Highway Patrol – Barstow Office said two people died, and three others were critically injured in a traffic collision involving a Budget rental truck early Thursday morning near Baker.
The incident took place around 4:09 a.m. on the northbound 15 Freeway near mile marker 142.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department and CHP officers responded to the scene and found debris scattered across all traffic lanes after a Budget rental truck collided with another vehicle.
Six people were involved in the collision, authorities said.
Two people died at the scene.
Three helicopters responded to the scene and airlifted three critically injured patients to the hospital.
Both northbound and southbound lanes of the freeway remained closed to allow the air ambulances to land near the scene.
Authorities did not mention the condition of the sixth person.
CHP officers are investigating to establish the cause of the accident.
