CHP Investigating Double Fatal Crash on Highway 70 in Oroville
Oroville, California: Two people died in a two-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday morning on Highway 70 in Oroville, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The wreck was reported around 10 a.m. on the Feather River Bridge just north of Montgomery Street.
CHP officers said just before the collision, a white Volkswagen CC occupied by the driver and one passenger came to a stop on northbound Highway 70 on the bridge for an unknown reason.
At the same time, a red Ram pickup truck driven northbound on the highway by Elijah Kinser was approaching the stopped car. Authorities said Kinser did not notice the Volkswagen was stopped and ended up rear-ending it.

Kinser sustained minor injuries.
Investigators said the deceased parties were possibly not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
