Christopher Lopez Killed in Modesto Motorcycle Accident on SR 99
Modesto, California – 21-year-old Christopher Lopez, of Ceres, was injured in a motorcycle accident that happened on Thursday morning near Salida.
The California Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 5:40 a.m. on Highway 99.
The man was riding a 2007 Triumph motorcycle when he rear-ended a 2010 Mercedes driven by 26-year-old Johnathan Mendes, of Los Banos.
Lopez was ejected from the bike and came to rest between the fast and middle lanes.
The man was injured in the accident and was transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
Officials says the rider was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Drugs and alcohol were not suspected as factors in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
