Coronado Police Sergeant Hit and Injured by SUV

Coronado, California: An on-duty Coronado Police Department motorcycle sergeant was sent to the hospital after being hit by an SUV Sunday morning.

The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. at 6th Street and Alameda Boulevard.

Authorities said an SUV pulled out of an alley near the intersection and hit the sergeant while he was riding on his motorcycle.

The sergeant flew over the handlebars, hit the SUV’s windshield, and then landed on the ground.

The motorcycle became stuck in the SUV’s grill.

The 25-year-old police veteran was able to ask for help with his police radio after the collision.

He was rushed to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger in the SUV cooperated with the police.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
