Coroner Identifies Man Killed in Victorville Crash on Amargosa Road

Victorville, California: 22-year-old Abel S. Navarrete from Victorville was the man who died in a two-vehicle collision that happened Saturday on Amargosa Road, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner.

The accident took place around 2:20 p.m. on March 30 near Amargosa Road and Ramada Drive near the Victorville Police Department.

The crash involved a gray 2001 Chevy Tahoe and a burgundy Infiniti sedan.

Eyewitnesses told authorities that the Tahoe was traveling south on Amargosa when, for an unknown reason, the sedan crossed into the path of the oncoming SUV.

The vehicles collided, sustaining major crash damage.

Firefighters used the jaws of life to extricate the car occupants.

Navarrete and another person occupied the sedan. Navarrete was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other occupant was flown to a trauma center for treatment of their injuries.

The driver of the Tahoe was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Navarrete’s wife, Angelica, opened a GoFundMe account to help raise funds to cover funeral costs and other expenses.
