Cyclist Fatally Hit by Car in Alamo Identified
Alamo, California: Authorities identified the woman who died in a bicycle accident Wednesday morning in Alamo as Allison Merkle, 45, of Walnut Creek.
Merkle was riding a bicycle westbound on Livorna Road under the Interstate 680 overpass when a man who had stopped his black Toyota bZ3x on the right shoulder drove into the roadway and struck her.
The incident occurred around 11:12 a.m.
Merkle died from her injuries at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stopped and cooperated with investigators.
