Cyclist Hit and Killed by Vehicle on 405 Freeway in Carson
Carson, California: A bicyclist died after being struck by a car early Sunday morning on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Carson.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 1:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes at the Wilmington Avenue off-ramp.
Authorities said a man was riding a bicycle on the right shoulder when he traveled into the slow lane directly in front of a 2014 Volvo.
The driver of the car attempted to stop but was unable and hit the cyclist.
The rider died in the accident.
Alcohol or drugs were not contributing factors.
CHP South Los Angeles is investigating the collision.
