Dale Pumphrey Killed in El Cajon Crash on SR 125 near Jamacha Road
El Cajon, California. – 63-year-old Dale Alan Pumphrey, of El Cajon, has been identified as the man who died in a car crash on Sunday night in El Cajon.
The fatal collision happened on southbound State Route 125 near Jamacha Road at around 8 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Pumphrey was loading a car onto his flatbed truck when a Toyota Prius driven by a 60-year-old man veered onto the shoulder and hit the rear of a tow truck.
The Toyota then struck Pumphrey, who died at the scene despite the life-saving measures from first responders.
The driver of the Toyota was unhurt and stayed at the accident scene.
Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
