Darrell Ellis Killed in Covina Crash on Arrow Highway near Barranca Avenue
Covina, California – 58-year-old Darrell Ellis has been identified as the driver who died in a car accident on Monday night in Covina.
The deadly collision happened around 9:20 p.m. November 27, on Arrow Highway near Barranca Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Ellis was driving an Audi A4 westbound on Arrow Highway when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a Mazda 3 and a Hyundai Accent.
Ellis was extricated from the vehicle shortly before it burst into flames. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries at the accident scene.
The 32-year-old El Monte woman driving the Mazda suffered minor injuries but was not hospitalized. Her 17-year-old female passenger was unhurt.
Police say a 32-year-old Pomona woman driving the Hyundai was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center with major injuries.
