Deadly Car Accident on Utica Avenue and 5 Freeway in Kettleman City
Kings County, California: One person died in a fiery car accident that happened Wednesday morning in Kettleman City, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident occurred around 6:47 a.m. on Utica Avenue near 5 Freeway.
According to the Kings County Sheriff’s Department, a 2014 gold Chevrolet Malibu collided with another vehicle under unclear circumstances.
One person got trapped inside one of the cars that caught fire.
The Avenal Police Department, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after the accident.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another person reportedly sustained unspecified injuries.
Authorities are investigating the collision.
