Jessica Wright Dies in Spokane Car Crash on Interstate 90
Deadly Crash on I-90 in Spokane
Spokane, Washington: 32-year-old Jessica Wright died in a two-vehicle collision that happened Sunday night on Interstate 90 in Spokane, the Washington State Police said.
The collision happened around 9 p.m. in the eastbound lanes at milepost 274.
According to police, Philip Garcia, 23, of Spokane, was traveling eastbound on the highway when he moved into the second lane and hit the rear of a 2014 Kia.
Garcia’s car ended up in the median, and the second car rolled and came to rest on its side.
The Kia was occupied by Wright, a 2-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy, and the 23-year-old driver.
Wright died in the crash.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The two boys were not hurt but were also hospitalized as a precaution.
Authorities said speed was a contributing factor. Garcia was charged with vehicular manslaughter following the collision.
