Monterey County, California: One person died in a multi-vehicle collision that happened late Sunday night on State Route 1 near Castroville in Monterey County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 11:48 p.m. near State Route 183.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision.
One person died in the accident. It was unclear if the other parties involved were injured.
The highway was shut down shortly after midnight Sunday following the collision. South traffic was being diverted onto SR-183.
